Super Sharp ExmorTMR Sensor
The 18.2 Megapixel Exmor RTM CMOS sensor delivers phenomenal levels of image detail. It is also a high sensitivity, low noise design. When used in conjunction with the camera’s BIONZTM processor using Extra High Sensitivity Technology, you get fantastic image quality even in dimly lit scenes where you never thought decent handheld photos possible.
Huge 30x Wide Angle Optical Zoom
The massive 30x zoom lens is complete with 27mm wide angle equivalent focal length, ideal for indoor and group shots. The top quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* design is boosted by an Optical SteadyShot image stabiliser. This stabiliser comes with Active Mode, ideal for shooting when walking and it also compensates for rolling motion. The 30x zoom range can also be doubled to 60x using Clear Image Zoom technology, showing very little falloff in image quality.
Full HD Movie Recording
Creates movies in Full HD 1920x1080/50p or 1080i AVCHD formats, the Progressive 50p mode giving an extra-smooth cinematic quality to your footage . There is a Dual REC feature for stills capture during movies and for still frame grab on playback. Connect to any HDTV using the included HDMI socket.
GPS Built-in
Share your adventures by GPS tagging stills and movie clips. Also features Log Recording and compass functions.
Intelligent Sweep Modes
The HX200V includes both 3D and Intelligent Sweep Panorama features, including 3D Sweep Panorama and High resolution modes. As a novel feature for special effects, there is Sweep Multi Angle which records a rapid burst of shots so you can view your subject from various angles, almost at exactly the same time.
Large Monitor and Electronic Viewfinder
Preview and review your images either on the large tiltable LCD monitor or EVF. The 3” LCD monitor has XtraFine and TruBlack technologies and features 921,000-dot resolution, while the viewfinder uses eye detection to switch to EVF mode when your eye is put up to the eyepiece.
As much control as you want
Choose to have as little or as much control over your camera’s setup as you like. For example you can have manual controls with a jog dial, focus ring, White Balance Shift and custom access, or there’s Superior Auto Mode for intelligent exposure control with low noise and high dynamic range. Finally Easy Shooting Mode leaves it all to the camera and gives clear on-screen instructions.
High Speed Functions
High Speed Autofocus is a key asset to this camera, even in dim conditions. Focus speed can be as fast as 0.13 seconds in ideal conditions. It also has Tracking Focus to keep your subject in focus while it’s in the frame and High Speed Continuous Shooting allows you to capture bursts of action stills at up to 10 frames per second.
Successful Portraits
Sony have filled this camera with great portrait-based features such as Face Detection and Smile Shutter which fires the shutter when your subject smiles. Both modes are selectable to give priority to children or adults. Also included is a Soft Skin Mode and Self Portrait Timer.
Get Creative
The HX-200 is ideal for those who like to tweak their photos. The Photo Creativity Interface enables you to adjust colour, brightness and other picture editing features on the camera and Artistic Picture Effect Modes include Toy Camera, Partial Colour, Pop Colour, HDR Painting, Miniature, Illustration and Watercolour effects
